Recipe for Homemade Dog Ice Cream
Making homemade dog ice cream is a fun and easy activity that not only provides your dog with a tasty treat but also helps her/him keep cool and content during hot summer days. In this recipe, we combine some flavorful ingredients and add a meaty addition for extra taste and nutrition.
This homemade meaty dog ice cream is a perfect way to reward your dog and give her/him a refreshing treat when the sun is at its highest. Here's how to make it:
Ingredients you need
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup unsweetened lactose-free yogurt
- 2 tablespoons applesauce (without added sugar or spices) or cooked and mashed sweet potato
- 1/4 cup cooked and finely chopped chicken, salmon or beef (boneless, without spices or onions)
How to do it: the step-by-step guide
- Peel the banana and mash it thoroughly in a bowl until it becomes a smooth puree.
- Add the yogurt, applesauce (or cooked and mashed sweet potato), and the finely chopped meat to the bowl.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until achieving a smooth consistency.
- Pour the mixture into ice cream molds or paper cups.
- Place your dog ice creams in the freezer and let them set for at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
- Once the dog ice cream is frozen, it is ready to be served!
